Britians top fencer Richard Kruse won European Championshp bronze in Italy just 41 days before the start of the Olympics. Richard said “It feels good – I wanted to be on the podium, I wanted to have a complete burn-out before the Olympics and wanted to push myself to the absolute limit.”

Richard, the current British number 1, beat world number one Andrea Cassara en route to a Grand Prix bronze medal in Japan.
